Class 442 EMU number 2409 at Bournemouth station on a South West Trains London Waterloo to Weymouth working on 7 October 2002. The 24 class 442 units are the only InterCity-style units working on the UK dc third-rail network, and are powered by English Electric traction equipment recovered from the 1960s-built 4-REP EMUs.<br/><br/>This particular unit contains equipment designed by me whilst working for Alstom at Preston.
