86259
1st March 2008

The first railtour for the second AC Electric locomotive to be privately restored to main line service - Les Ross's 86259.

The railtour was in two parts: Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street in the morning (and returning in the afternoon); plus, in between, a triangular "turning trip" via Preston and Crewe.

Well done to Les's team at Tyseley for restoring 86259 to such excellent condition.

The first AC Electric locomotive to be privately restored to main line service was 86101, back in March 2007.

For photographs another railtour hauled by 86259, please see December 2008.
